American Airlines announced a new priority boarding policy which allows passengers with one carry-on item that fits under the seats to board planes earlier than others who require overhead bins.
American Airlines introduced the new policy with the hopes this will help their on time performance among other things. American gives boarding preference to first-class passengers and members of the military in uniform, then business class, then frequent fliers enrolled in the airline’s loyalty program and then customers without overhead luggage.
As flights have become more crowded, the competition for space in overhead bins has heated up.
Tell us, will you carry on less to board earlier?
