Here’s some good news for all of you just itching to bypass those airport checkpoints while maintaining your sanity—and footwear. The Transportation Security Administration announced this week that it plans on expanding its pre-screening program to 60 additional airports this year, meaning that tens of millions of American travelers can get through security all faster.
This expansion means that the TSA PreCheck program will be available at 100 airports in 42 states, plus Guam and Puerto Rico! Plus, the number of PreCheck lanes at today’s existing airports will be expanded as well.
PreCheck travelers—or, pre-approved airline travelers—are allowed to leave on footwear, light outerwear and belts as they go through security. They may also leave their laptop computers in their cases and leave their liquid carry-ons in their bags.
An online application for PreCheck will be available later this year. In the meantime, learn more about PreCheck and how you can sign up now.
