The airlines don’t usually do much to garner sympathy from the traveling public, but you have to feel for Continental on this one. Over the next year, it’s going to have to spend time and money defending itself in a lawsuit filed by one of its passengers who alleges that a 2009 flight was too turbulent, and she has been suffering from post traumatic stress disorder ever since. The passenger, Colleen O’Neal of Texas, flew Continental from College Station to Houston in 2009. She says that during the flight the plane “fell repeatedly, and felt as if it had lost power and was falling out of the sky.” Of course, it didn’t really lose power and didn’t fall out of the sky (it landed safely with no injuries), but O’Neal says the experience was so frightful that she had to pass up on opportunity to work for FEMA, because the job would require travel and she is now too scared to fly. She is suing for the lost income and for compensation for the nightmares and flashbacks she still experiences.

I doubt she will win because weather can`t be predicted and for her being probably the only one filing a suit I doubt she will have much room to stand on. But if she has money to throw away and finds fit to obtain a lawyer I guess anyone at anytime can sue who ever they want. I fell down on a slip and fall at my rental property. I have a torn tendon in my knee and a meniscus tear and I think I would face a better chance of suit.

I have landed in rough weather and my plane which was a commercial one had turbulent weather and once the pilot comes in or around those clouds they usually fly away and divert their routing as to fly away from any turbulent areas. But in some cases thereare pockets of bad weather and planes have a down draft as well as do cars passing big tractors on the highway. Your car blows around from the cross winds etc. Pilotsavoid and place a signal upon the above over head saying tough weather ahead please stay sitting with seat belts until the sign no longer is lit.

Hard to believe that any lawyer would take on such a ridiculous case! Some things in life are just not controllable!1 Turbulance when flying, weather, earthquakes etc etc etc. LADY stop trying to blame LIFE instances on other people. It is NoT the airline’s problem that you are overly reactional to things. Are others complaining from that flight? I hope you do not win your case. I hope you realize that you are just not the type to fly and adjust your work schedule accordingly.

I think anyone wanting to sue for such ridiculous circumstances just to get rich is a piece of trash! Get a job and quite whinning. It’s not the coporations that pay anyway these cost are passed down to the consumers.
