About Long Beach

Long Beach is a city located in southern California, on the Pacific coast. It is situated in Los Angeles County, about 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. Long Beach is the 36th-largest city in the nation and the fifth-largest in California. The Port of Long Beach is one of the world's largest shipping ports. The city also has a large oil industry; oil is found both underground and offshore. Manufacturers include aircraft, automobile parts, electronic and audiovisual equipment, and home furnishings.

Long Beach Airport serves the Long Beach, South Bay and northern Orange County areas, but is relatively small, considering the area's population. It is the West Coast hub for JetBlue Airways. The airport has four smaller runways and one long runway for jets, plus nine taxiways, and occupies 1,166 acres. It was formerly known as Long Beach Municipal Airport. Long Beach Airport has very little service compared with the dominant Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) approximately 18 miles to the northwest. You can find great low cost flights from Long Beach right now. Just enter your destination city and dates and click Check Fares.

  • Fares advertised are the lowest current fares in each market. An advance purchase of up to 21 days in advance may apply in addition to other restrictions like blackout days, travel days, or travel times.
  • Seats at these rates are capacity controlled and may not be available on all flights or all airlines. Generally speaking, the travel days most likely to be available at the lowest rate are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with Fridays and Sundays being the most difficult.
  • Fares are subject to change without notice and can never be guaranteed until a reservation is made and tickets are purchased.
  • Rates shown include an estimate of all taxes and fees; actual taxes may vary slightly depending on the airports and connection cities used.
