About Palm Springs

Palm Springs is a desert city in Riverside County, California, approximately 111 miles east of Los Angeles and 136 miles northeast of San Diego. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 42,807. Golf, swimming, tennis, horseback riding and hiking in the nearby desert and mountain areas are other major forms of recreation in Palm Springs.

Palm Springs International Airport is a public airport serving the Coachella Valley area of Riverside County. The airport covers 940 acres and has two runways. It is highly seasonal, in that many flights do not operate during the summer. Palm Springs International Airport was originally constructed as a United States Army Air Forces airfield in 1939 on land owned by the Agua Caliente band of the Cahuilla people. The city of Palm Springs purchased the land in 1961 and converted it for commercial use, which began in 1964 as the Palm Springs Municipal Airport. You can find great low cost flights from Palm Springs right now. Just enter your destination city and dates and click Check Fares.

  • Fares advertised are the lowest current fares in each market. An advance purchase of up to 21 days in advance may apply in addition to other restrictions like blackout days, travel days, or travel times.
  • Seats at these rates are capacity controlled and may not be available on all flights or all airlines. Generally speaking, the travel days most likely to be available at the lowest rate are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with Fridays and Sundays being the most difficult.
  • Fares are subject to change without notice and can never be guaranteed until a reservation is made and tickets are purchased.
  • Rates shown include an estimate of all taxes and fees; actual taxes may vary slightly depending on the airports and connection cities used.
