What is a schedule change?
A schedule change is any change to your flights schedule. Due to the operational needs of each airline they often make changes to the flights they operate. Often these changes can range from 1 minute to a canceled flight. Types of changes could be: flight number changes, time changes, routing, date changes and or cancellations.
Reasons for Schedule Changes:
- – Weather
- – Mechanical or Crew issues
- – Airport terminal or gate changes
- – Civil unrest
- – Acts of God – volcano, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.
- – Bankruptcy
CheapAir will notify you by e-mail if your reservation is impacted by an airline schedule change. Since schedule changes can occur at any time, CheapAir strongly encourages passengers to verify departure times and flight numbers 24-hours before departure.
Our Policy regarding Schedule Changes:
We recommend that you verify your itinerary in My Trips 48 – 72 hours prior to your departure. When booking several months or weeks in advance, you may also want to periodically verify your flight information online. This will help avoid any unforeseen changes that may arise.
Your flight details are always available online in My Trips. All airline schedule changes will be noted here and we will also make every effort possible to contact you via email if your itinerary has changed. In some instances, we may need to talk to you to discuss flight alternatives.
Even the best laid plans are no match for Mother Nature – flight disruptions may occur at the last minute. Make sure to keep one eye on the sky and the other on departure board upon arriving at the airport to check for last minute delays.
Options to Resolve a Schedule Change:
- – Call the airline directly, since they caused the change.
- – Call CheapAir and we will work with the airline.
What services does CheapAir provide for schedule changes?
CheapAir will notify you by e-mail if your reservation is impacted by an airline schedule change. After we speak with you, CheapAir we will work with the airline on your behalf and try to come to a resolution. In some cases the only resolution may result in cancellation of the flight and refund. Since schedule changes occur frequently, CheapAir prioritizes reservations based on date of departure. This is to help avoid any future schedule changes that can occur. If you do not want to wait, we advise to contact the airline directly.
What happens if I cannot be re-protected?
We will make every attempt to get the airlines in question to re-protect the customer. It ultimately depends on the airline or airlines involved. If the airline is unable to re - protect the customer we will request a refund on your behalf.
