Most U.S. airlines have announced plans to waive change fees for customers who will be travelling to, from, or through the east coast over the next few days.  An advancing snow storm is expected to peak on January 8 and 9 and could potentially cause major disruptions to air travel.

American Airlines said that customers scheduled to fly into or out of 14 different airports in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania on those two days will be able to change their itineraries without paying the typical rebooking fee.

Both United and Continental said that the fee and any fare difference incurred will be waived entirely if the rescheduled flight takes off by January 23. Delta Air Lines has a similar program in place.

If you are holding a ticketed and are concerned you might be affected, please call your airline directly, or contact our customer support team at 1-800-CHEAP-AIR (800-243-2724).
