In spite of its ongoing bankruptcy, American Airlines has just announced that it will add eight new routes to its network. Starting this summer, American will fly from LAX in Los Angeles to the following destinations:
- Eugene, Oregon
- Redmond, Oregon
- Pittsburgh
- Indianapolis
- Columbus, Ohio
- Hartford, Connecticut
- Bentonville, Arkansas
The new routes will be rolled out one by one over the summer. In November this year, American will also start flying LAX to Sao Paulo, Brazil. This will bring to 51 the total number of domestic and international routes that American flies out of LAX.
American currently accounts for 16.3% of passenger traffic through LAX, putting it in second place behind United (with 17.6%). But that will all change if the planned merger between American and US Airways goes ahead. The two airlines combined would become the biggest carrier in the world, and certainly the dominant player at LAX.
I think It is a good idea. They check their price too.thanks
