Saturday, March 17, 2012 millions of people across the world will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick’s Day commemorates Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.
In the United States, St. Patrick’s Day is primarily celebrated as a celebration of Irish and Irish American culture, although just about anyone who wants an excuse to party and drink will celebrate it. Celebrations include prominent displays of the color green, feasting, drinking, religious observances, and parades. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? (If you even do.) Will you be wearing green?
