We’ve got some good news for residents of Orlando, FL and Greensboro, NC. Frontier has announced a new nonstop service between the two cities, due to commence on November 17.
The low-cost carrier will fly three services per week in both directions. Flights will depart Orlando (MCO) at the following times:
– 8:30am Monday
– 8:00am Wednesday
– 8:30am Saturday
In the opposite direction, flights will depart Greensboro (GSO) at:
– 10:45am Monday
– 10:15am Wednesday
– 10:45am Saturday
All services will be flying the Airbus A319, which holds 138 passengers. This will be the first time a budget airline has flown Orlando – Greensboro nonstop. The new route puts Frontier in competition with legacy rivals like American, United, and US Airways. Let’s hear it for a price war!
Frontier is selling introductory fares from $138 return, good for travel November 17 through March 17, 2013. A round-trip purchase is not required, but you’ll need to book tickets at least 14 days in advance. These fares are on sale until Saturday August 25.
So far American Airlines has matched prices on certain dates in November, December, and January. Let’s hope the others follow suit.
