Aloha to residents of the Bay Area. We’ve got some good news: You will soon have more Hawaii flights to choose from. Hawaiian Airlines has announced a big increase in services to Maui, departing Oakland and San Jose.
Hawaiian currently flies to Maui four times per week from Oakland, and three times from San Jose. From October 3, this will increase to a daily service on both routes, for a total of 14 weekly flights to Hawaii’s second-largest island.
Peter Ingram, Executive Vice President of Hawaiian Airlines, told reporters that the Bay Area is a particularly strong market for Hawaii travel, and the new routes are a response to surging demand.
If you’re on the West Coast and planning a vacation in Hawaii, keep your eye on United and Alaska Airlines, which are often cheaper than Hawaiian.
