If you travel often and absolutely must be digitally connected at all times, you’ll be pleased to know that JetBlue has announced it’s going to begin equipping all aircraft with high tech, super-fast, whiz bang WiFi in just the next few weeks. That means that by the end of 2014, 80 to 85 percent of all JetBlue airplanes will be equipped!
Plus, you’ll be able to search for these flights directly in CheapAir’s flight search results. We’re one of the few online travel sites that display WiFi, live TV and other on-board amenities, so you know exactly what kind of flight you’re signing up for and can easily comparison shop.
But this means a lot more than just an increased amount of Facebook updates from the sky. JetBlue claims its ViaSat serviced WiFi will have a capacity of 12 megabytes per second, per device—faster than other in-flight WiFi services. And from a business perspective, this is a game-changer for JetBlue as they seek to increase their current 7 percent profit margins throughout 2014.
JetBlue hasn’t yet released pricing for its WiFi services.
How often do you use WiFi? How much importance to you place on WiFi when you book airfare?
