A Few Basics to Keep You in Good Standing with Twitter
Everybody loves a good hashtag and retweet. However, Twitter does have Best Practices for contest entries for a reason so we hope you’ll adhere to the following:

1. We’d prefer the hashtags relate to our contest directly. For instance, aside from the requirement to include #LondonBTC, if you wanted to get creative and include others like #InsideBitcoinsUK or anything of that ilk, we won’t put up a fuss. But if you #BeliebersRule, we’re going to have a problem.

2. Please no excessive retweets to your own followers. We don’t want to spam anyone.

And Furthermore….
By entering the contest, entrants agree to have their submitted entry/name/ Twitter handle displayed on our website and used by us for any purpose, at any time, without any fee or other form of compensation. We reserve the right to disqualify users, without notice, and for any reason. By entering the contest, the entrant confirms that the submitted entry materials (including any photo, video or other media) is an original work and does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy.

Winner will be chosen and announced Wednesday, July 23, 2014. The winning entry will be selected by a selection committee made up of CheapAir team members. Entries will be judged on originality and relevance to the Bitcoin scene/community. Once selected, the winner must respond via Twitter within 48 hours of the announcement or forfeit their win. In this case, the second-place winner will be contacted; and so on until a winner is chosen. Winning entries are chosen completely at CheapAir.com’s discretion.

Winner Conditions/Obligations
The winner will be required to submit a photo and testimonial post-trip that CheapAir may use for marketing/promotional purposes on social media and the CheapAir blog specifically, but not limited to digital and electronic media, computer, print, audio and audiovisual media (whether now existing or hereafter devised), throughout the world, and in any manner, for trade, advertising, promotional, commercial, or any other purposes without further approval or consideration. The winner will be asked to sign a release/contract outlining these terms. If the Winner declines to do this, they automatically forfeit their winnings and the CheapAir team will contact the 2nd place submission, and so on until a chosen winner agrees to participate.

Additional Terms
The entrants grant CheapAir the absolute right and permission to edit, modify, publish and use the content of and elements embodied in the entries and the entries themselves in perpetuity in any and all media including but not limited to digital and electronic media, computer, print, audio and audiovisual media (whether now existing or hereafter devised), throughout the world, and in any manner, for trade, advertising, promotional, commercial, or any other purposes without further approval or consideration.

    1. Hi Juan,

You must include @CheapAir and #LondonBTC in your tweet. If you can’t fit it all, then send 2 tweets. Good luck! 🙂

  1. The coinbase blog email says “Anyone who is interested should tweet #CheapAirBitcoin and no more than 122 characters on why they would like to win the trip.”. Note the different hashtag, not #LondonBTC. Do we need both?

    1. Thanks for the catch Roscoe. Nope – we’ll reach out to Coinbase. Seems to be a typo. You just need #LondonBTC and the @CheapAir handle.

  2. I wish ya would have provided a different ways such as doing it like this on your web page instead of Twitter with a small character count

    1. Hi Ryan, Point taken. I think our general idea for this contest in particular was to make this quick and easy (and also see how creative people can get with the character count) . Having said that, you could always upload a photo or a video if that suits you more – or send us to a web page via Twitter. Your point is well taken. We do try to mix up the contests and offer four users/customers a variety of ways to engage.
