Can I get a refund on my airline ticket if I get sick and have a doctor’s note?

In almost all cases, no. Airline issued tickets are usually non-refundable and non-transferable (which means you can’t give your ticket to someone else).

Airlines have very strict policies regarding tickets and limit what a passenger can do. If you purchased a non-refundable ticket, the airline will stick to their policy of non-refundable. In some cases, airlines will grant waivers and refund your ticket due to severe medical reasons but only on a case by case basis.

Airlines will require some sort of documentation from your doctor. You will need to contact the airline directly to inquire if you can get a refund.
