I have a special request for my hotel. Is that okay?

Sure. Request away! Some special requests – such as room location (ocean view, high/low floor, away from elevator, etc.) – are based on availability and are accommodated at the time of check-in. Also, some special requests are at a premium. What does that mean? Well, it just means that if you booked a garden view room but show up asking for an ocean view, it’s not going to be a free upgrade. Usually, hotels have no problem sharing that sort of information with you in advance. Just ask,  “Is there a fee for upgrade to the ocean view room?” If there is, they’ll usually disclose what it is.

Requests for child beds, such as a crib and/or roll-away bed, are also usually available for a nominal fee and are also confirmed upon check-in. It never hurts to put in a special request directly with the hotel before your arrival.
