When you’re looking for a Christmas beach vacation, consider one of these beachy destinations that are perfect this time of the year!

Baja California, Mexico

Christmas Beach Vacations

You can get sunbathing weather and balmy nights relatively close to the U.S. if you head to Mexico. And the Baja coast is a great option for a more affordable holiday. Hang at one of many all-inclusive resorts  where you never even need to leave the property, or head into Cabo San Lucas for a party vibe year round if that’s more your speed.

Kauai, Hawaii

Hawaii is one of those evergreen destinations without much of a low season, and Christmas can actually be one of the busiest times to go. Having said that, Kauai still flies a bit under the radar compared to Oahu or Maui. Flying out from a west coast gateway (LAX will have the best deals) can get to you Kauai for a reasonable price, and once you’re there you’ll be able to get a budget hotel room. Try snorkeling and swimming off the Na Pali Coast for some of the best natural landscapes in the world, or just pick a beach to lounge away the hours – with more than 50 miles of picturesque coastline you can’t go wrong!

Key West, Florida

Miami Beach is an extremely popular destination for New Yorkers over the holidays, which drives up flight and accommodation prices. Also, Miami is quite a scene. We recommend visiting a more laid-back spot for the holidays. Our pick is Key West – that retro cool spot to the south. Fly into Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami to save some dough, and then splash out a bit on accommodation. Head out to Duval Street in Old Town when the need to mix and mingle strikes – it’s one of the most fun spots in town.

Laguna Beach, California

Laguna Beach has a small-town vibe on one of the most picturesque parts of the southern California coast, and it has an ongoing love affair with all things Christmas. In addition, for some reason, Laguna in the winter offers great value for the money. You probably won’t find it warm enough for sunbathing, so don’t go into the week thinking you might, but you never know. The weather in California is such that you might get lucky!

Puerto Rico

Share your positive Christmas vibes with Puerto Rico. Though it’s still in recovery mode, Puerto Rico’s resilience and entrepreneurial spirit has carried it through. San Juan’s lively night life and picturesque coasts continue to dazzle. We recommend a trip to Mosquito Bay to experience the world’s most bioluminescent waters.

  1. I was wandering why you guys don’t fly into fort Walton beach Florida anymore I love the prices to fly to my vacation spot and reasonable I wish you guys can come back To ft Walton beach Florida again

    • Hi Matthew, Not sure which airlines used to fly into Ft. Walton, but if it is a small one that probably has something to do with why airlines stop their flight schedule (if it is small and nearish to a larger airport).
